Pelé lends support to Ben Nevis appeal
The Grand draw - Who was the lucky winner?

Pelé had autographed a Brazilian football shirt - this year’s design - in support of an urgent initiative to raise £1.6 million and save the UCKG HelpCentre at 176 Rye Lane, Peckham.

Sunday 2nd December at the Rainbow
Theatre, 80 spectators anxiously waited for the results of the grand draw to win an exclusive shirt signed by the 'King of Football'.

David Nzuruba from Finsbury Park Victory Youth Group was announced as the lucky winner.

I’m really happy to have won this shirt as I really like football and admire

David 18, from Hackney has been attending the VYG for over a year and his life has transformed tremendously. Read more of his testimony...

I am also fighting to raise money for the Peckham church. I understand the need to help young people as I was also helped in the VYG and I’m grateful for all the support I received, so now it’s my turn to help other young people.”

David will auction the Pelé shirt to raise funds for Peckham as he also wants to help the cause.

“If it wasn’t for the VYG my life would be destroyed today. The HelpCentre in Peckham cannot close down as there are many young people out there who need guidance and support; I’m doing my part, so why don’t you!”

The Pelé raffle raised a grand total of £5,200. All funds will go towards the Ben Nevis challenge.

We are happy to have Pelé and Anton Ferdinand supporting us in this challenge. What about you? You can also lend your support by sponsoring the climbers in their selfless effort to help others?
